To start the weekend Claire and I made homemade pizzas for dinner. I made my pizza dough recipe I always use. It's from the two sisters Janet and Greta, their Looneyspoon's Cookbook. It is so simple and healthy. Whole-Wheat Flax and Honey Pizza Dough. Yum!
I also followed their recipe for BBQ Chicken Pizza and their LEANing Tower of Pizza (greek style). Both were so easy to assemble and Claire had fun helping me but really she just would rather eat the grated cheese. She loved using the rolling pin to roll out the dough. After we finished making the dough and prepping the toppings we headed outside to enjoy the weather and go for a walk around the block. It was around 4:15 so it was already starting to cool off but the sun was still shinning. I plunked Abby into the stroller and let Claire walk on her own beside us. She was stomping on the leaves and picking up sticks to bring home for Makena. It took us a good 45 minutes to walk around the block when normally it would take us 25 minutes if they are both in the wagon. It was so great to get out and enjoy the sunshine. The pizza was delicious and I had way too many pieces! Kyle and the girls played for a little bit before bath and bedtime.
Yesterday we slept in a little bit and got everyone moving by 7:30 am. Kyle and Claire made some warm oatmeal for breakfast and I brewed a pot of coffee. After breakfast I put Abby down for her morning nap while Kyle and Claire headed off to Wee Movers at the Wellness Centre. It's Claire's gym class, they play music, dance, play games and play with all kinds of gym equipment. She just loves it!
We were planning on heading over to Schwabe Pumpkin Patch off Henderson Hwy close to our house, I text both my friends to see if they wanted to meet there with all of our little ones. It was nice to get everyone together again. The weather couldn't have been better for a day at the pumpkin patch, it was sunny and so warm. We try and go every year to the pumpkin patch because they have have pumpkins everywhere and cute places set up for photo opps for the kids. We were able to get some cute photos of both girls and some as a family. We also needed to buy pumpkins for carving as well as one sweet pie pumpkin I am going to use to make homemade pumpkin pie with. (That will be awhole other blog entry) The girls had so much fun and must have been wiped because they slept for 2 and 1/2 hours for the nap in the afternoon.

Kyle made some delicious Micheal Smith Honey Mustard BBQ Baked Ribs for dinner. He slow cooked them in the over for several hours, man did the house smell good when I got home from grocery shopping. By the way I love going grocery shopping now when the girls are sleeping. I am in and out in no time and I can even take my time looking at the things I want to like clothing or household stuff without Claire asking for something or worrying about what time we need to be home so Abby doesn't fall asleep in the car. (Sorry I got a little off topic there) We were hoping on making a bonfire and roasting some marshmallows after dinner but it was too windy outside. Instead we went outside and put the Halloween lights up and set up some other decorations. I also started a little fall craft project that I will write about in another blog. It was a successful day and the girls were happy. So far it's been an awesome weekend and I hope this weather continues for awhile yet.

Today is my dad's official 60th birthday! We are celebrating this morning with everyone over for brunch at our place. My parents offered to bring food and make denver sandwiches with hash browns, who would say no to that?!?! My birthday is on Tuesday so we will celebrate both my dad and my birthday together, we do every year and it's a nice family tradition.
Tonight we will be heading to the new restaurant, Food Evolution, that has opened up in Kildonan Park with Kyle's family for a nice dinner.
Tomorrow we our hosting both our families for Thanksgiving dinner. We have a full menu and I am going to be so full after. Kyle and I are making the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and I will baking pumpkin pie. We have other family members bringing other dishes to add to the mix.
