Monday morning Kyle and I both took turns going for a run before starting our day. We've been making delicious smoothies for breakfast in the mornings. Frozen mango, banana, kale, spinach, chia seeds, orange juice and a peach, sooo good! Claire and Abby love them too.
I took both girls to Scholar's Choice near Polo Park to go return something for my classroom and get something else instead. They love going there because they have toys set up to play with and try out. Abby loved the trained set and Claire played with this Calico Critters House with little animals.
On our way home we stopped at my school for a quick visit. The girls met my principal and secretary, they were excited to have little visitors. I dropped somethings off in my classroom and let the girls play with some materials. I got approval from the girls that my room was ready for my students.
After nap and quiet time we took a walk to the park to play. It was a gorgeous day, a little cooler than normal but perfect park weather. I am really happy with how brave Claire is getting at the park now. She will go across the rope bridge on her own and as now tried the spinners with a little help. Abby on the other hand is fearless and goes down the slide by herself and wants to do everything Claire does. Claire at Abby's age was very cautious and still is with many things.
After dinner we checked out a different park in our neighbour hood in Bridgewater Lakes. It is a park we had never been too before and had heard about it from our neighbours. It had a fun play house, swings and lots of climbers but the best part there is lots of the colour rubber tire on the ground so it's great if there are falls. The girls had a blast!
Tuesday we met my friend Kat and her boys at the Nature Playground in Assiniboine Park for a play date. It was suppose to be cool like 8 degrees but it turned out to be very warm. I of course over dressed myself and the girls. We still had a great time. It's a beautiful park and lots of variety but I'm not a fan of the water/sand area, the girls get so messy, yuck! I know I sound like a Debbie Downer but I would like it if they did the sand and water separate and then it wouldn't be as messy. They loved it and I was smart and brought a change of clothes!
Wednesday we met another friend at a splash pad in Lindenwoods near our house. It was cooler as well with the breeze but that didn't stop them from having a great time in the water. They loved filling up their buckets with water and dumping them out. Claire started collecting rocks too. My friend Crystal brought her daughter Alex who is only 6 months old. Abby and Claire loved bringing her toys and talking to her.
Thursday we met my friend Julie and her two girls at a splash pad in River Heights not too far from my school on Grosvenor. It was a bit warmer than the day before and the girls still went in the water. They also just built a new playground right beside the splash pad and they all went climbing and swinging on their own. I loved it as well because it had the rubber tire on the ground.
Friday Kyle had the day off work so he stayed home. He offered to stay home with the girls in the morning so I could go into work to get somethings ready in the my classroom. I was able to get lots done and chatted with some of the teachers I had met in June and some new ones I had never met before. I'm just loving my classroom, big windows, freshly painted walls, tons of storage space and a have my very own sink in the classroom. Score for art projects!!
