Saturday morning we woke up early and headed over to Stalwart Appliances to finalize our kitchen appliances for the new house. We had picked out GE Monogram for quite some time now but needed to go and look at the different handles they offered the pro or euro look. We went with the pro look. We also looked at a few range hoods in the style I wanted and they are going to get back to us with prices. It was nice to get that done and checked off the list. Here is the
GE Monogram French Door Refrigerator,
GE Monogram Dishwasher, (we were able to get this one for free),
GE Monogram Gas Five Burner Cooktop,
GE Monogram Electronic Convention Single Wall Oven, and finally the
GE Monogram Built-In Oven with Advantium Speedcook Tech. These will look awesome in our brand new kitchen when it's all complete, I can't wait to see it!
After Kyle, Abby and I arrived home from a busy morning finalizing our appliances I was able to get Abby down for a nap. I could barely keep my eyes open while I was feeding Abby so I really needed a nap as well. We both slept for an hour and Kyle relaxed on the coach watching World Cup soccer.
We were going to a pool party in the evening for supper so I offered to bring dessert. I knew there were going to be 9 kids and 11 adults so I wanted to make two separate desserts. I had made this
Key Lime Pie recipe before and it was delicious so I decided I would make that for the adults. It's a nice and refreshing dessert for summer. Then I had saw a fun idea for kids on a blog,
Fruit Skewers with blueberries, strawberries, marshmallows and brownie drizzled with chocolate. I decided to make those for the kids but minus the brownie. I think it is suppose to be for Fourth of July in the states because of the red, white and blue colour of it. Once I woke up from my nap I began baking. Even Kyle helped me bake the pie and prepare the skewers. He juiced all the tiny key limes for me and put the fruit on the skewers. It was nice having help in the kitchen.

Around 4:00 pm we packed up our swim suits, towels and desserts and headed to the south end to pick up Claire and go to the pool party. Kyle's client and his family invited us over last weekend for a pool party but the weather was terrible with thunderstorms and rain that we ended up rescheduling it for this Saturday instead. Though the weather forecast was not looking good at all they told us to come anyways. We drove south and literally within minutes the rain stopped and the sun came out, we were so happy to see that the weather man was wrong for once.
We got to my sister and Derrick's condo by 4:30 or so and hung out there with them before going to the pool party for 6:00 pm. We took some cute photos of the girls at their condo. We put them in matching white cotton outfits, I'm sure they'll hate me for it when they're older. For now they look so adorable!

The weather couldn't have been better for the pool party. It was not only sunny but the perfect temperature for swimming. Claire and Abby had so much fun there with the other kids. Claire loved going down the slide with her dad and Abby enjoyed the Exersaucer they had for her. We also had to admire their backyard with all their beautiful landscaping and their impressive pool. We hope to someday have just as a nice a backyard as theirs. Here's to wishful thinking!

They ordered delicious pizzas ham pineapple, cheese, meat lovers, and veggie. Claire loved the ham and pineapple. They also had a yummy salad to eat on the side. The desserts were a huge hit with everyone. I was happy the way it all turned out. We had a late night and didn't get home until after 10:00 pm. It was
way past the girls bedtime but in the end it was all worth it. They had so much fun and slept like rocks that night, what am I kidding, we all did. We were so glad the weather cooperated for us.
Totally worth the late bedtime! That is what summer is all about! Glad you had so much fun and those desserts look amazing!!
