Building Our Dream Home

We are currently in the process of building our home. It has been a fun and exciting time going to pick out materials and watch as the house is built in stages. I would like to write about our journey so far and how it all began.

We began our process back in November  2013 going to show homes and looking around at different custom builders. We knew at that point we wanted to build our next house and wanted to get an idea of what we would like and who the best builder would be.

We first met with Gino's and liked their homes but soon after met with Maric and found we liked their homes a lot more. Maric was the builder we decided to build with in the end and have loved the house they have designed for us. It's perfect! We loved the show home in Sage Creek it's a two storey, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath and an open floor plan on the main floor. We designed our home after this house but just tweaked things a little to make it our own.

Right now the basement walls have been poured and set. The other week they started to frame the basement. We were able to drive and take a look at the house on Friday. It was great to see the walk out basement framed with windows and a door with part of the floor finished too.

We just recently went to select our plumbing fixtures and cabinetry for the house. It has been so much fun picking out what we want. This time we promised each other we wouldn't compromise on anything. With our first house we built we were just fresh out of University so we had to go the cheaper route on some materials, not this time! I will write again soon about our other material selections.
